Alicia Keys, a New York native, first debuted on the music scene in 1997 with a song she co-wrote with producer Jermaine Dupree for So So Def Records. The song titled "Dah Dee Dah (Sexy Thing)" made the artist popular on the hit movie Men in Black's soundtrack. In 2001 she dazzled fans with her album Songs in A-Minor. Her soulful R&B vocals then propelled her into a life of stardom.

Selling over 6,000,000 copies world-wide with her debut album and winning Best R&B Album, Best R&B Song, Best R&B Female Vocal Performance, Best New Artist, and Best New Song of the Year that year at the Grammys.

2003, Alicia once again graced the music scene with her album "The Diary of Alicia Keys". This work contained such hit singles as "You Don't Know My Name" "Karma" "If I Ain't Got You" and "Diary" this further propelled the starlet to explore other creative avenues including cameos in TV sitcoms such as Charmed, and American Dreams

It was with this album that she once again provided her fans with hard-driven rhythms and seductive odes. This time awarding her with Grammys for Best R&B Album, Best R&B Song, Best R&B Vocal Performance and Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals awards in 2004.

She also releases her novel Tears for Water: A Songbook for Poems and Lyrics that year. I always wanted to read it but have yet had a chance to do so.

Alicia released Unplugged two years later and hit record number sales, selling over 245,000 copies world wide in the first week alone.

This beat out the previous record set by Grunge Legend Nirvana back in 1994. This album included a remake of the Rolling Stones song "Wild Horses" and produced the Grammy Nominated hit "Unbreakable". It was during this time, the starlet appeared on the popular children television shows Sesame Street and The Backyardigans.

In 2007 the multi-faceted star expanded her career further by making her film debut in  Smoking Aces co-starring with Ben Affleck in the action packed thriller. As well as playing "Lynette" in the comedy-drama The Nanny Dairies that same year.

Her television career also yielded several more cameos this year as she performed in the television sitcom Cane and appeared in Elmo's Christmas Countdown, both of which roles, she played herself.

Alicia also released As I Am this year; an emotional based accord of her musical style. The clean R&B tones and mellow rhythms really showed this artists progression in this release.

The hard hitting single "No One" inspires millions of adoring fans and Alicia Keys wins two more Grammys this year in the Best R&B Song and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance categories.

So far in 2008, Alicia has stared in another movie entitled  The Secret Life of Bees and has her own Micro-Series on MTV that is sponsored by Dove Go Fresh. She is also currently planning on releasing a remix of her works on December 2 and has released a single with Jack White entitled "Another Way to Die" that is on the Quantum of Solace soundtrack that has already been released this year. She also has starred in the movie We Are Together.

I love how Alicia’s voice sounds. Well, and how attractive she is. The think I like about Alicia is that she always sings what she means. She sounds pretty good on the piano too, I’ve always admired her as an artist and I love at the range at which she can reach.
